Q. Tell us something about you – your philosophy, your lifestyle, your ethics, your hobbies etc.
A.
There’s an old saying in journalism, that you’re only as good as your last byline. It’s a very pertinent saying, and one that I have carried through my entire working career – from senior journalist, to editor, to corporate communications manager and, finally, to being a business owner. We should never rest on our laurels, and definitely never take our customers for granted. I certainly operate on the basis that if you work hard, do your best, and deliver for your customers every time that it can only put you in good stead for the future.

BUSINESS DETAILS
Q. What is it that your business does?
A.
Seeking Media is a cost-effective system for writing, editing and sending press releases to media across Australia, covering newspapers, magazines, radio, television, newswires and online sites.)

Q. Do you work from home? How many do you employ?
A.
I operate between a city office, a home office and client’s offices. I tend to use external contractors for tasks such as writing and editing.

Q. How long have you been in business?
A.
Seeking Media was launched at the start of 2007. However, my public relations company Corporate Image Communications has been operating for six years.

Q. What makes your business unique?
A.
 Seeking Media simultaneously spans both the online and physical worlds of public relations at the same time. As a press release distribution system, users can simply log in and send out their releases without any intervention. But they can also seek human help with writing and editing, and advice. There is no other system out there that offers this range of support.

MARKETING
Q. What is the most important Marketing/Networking tool/strategy your business has had success with?
A.
Much of our online traffic is generated through Google, which has been very successful. However I also find networking enormously beneficial in spreading the word.

AWARDS
Q. Has your business been nominated for, was a finalist in, or won any awards or other commendations?
A.
As a new business we have focused on building the foundations at this stage.

ADVICE
Q. What is the most helpful piece of advice you could give to other businesses?
A.
Always deliver on your promises.

SUPPORT
Q. What is it you are looking for as a member of MCEI?
A.
 Seeking Media is a great tool for business owners to use in promoting their businesses directly to the media and believe MCEI members will find it very useful. Seeking Media is also a perfect business to partner with, for marketers, writers, web developers and others who may want to offer the service to their clients on a reseller basis. I am also seeking to form relationships with other service providers.

Q. What is it you can offer to MCEI members?
A.
As well as providing support and advice to members, I am happy to offer access to the service at special member rates.

MILESTONES
Seeking Media was launched at the start of 2007 and now has more than 650 registered members. We are very excited by this growth in the first year.
