MCEI Chapters Around the World

Annecy
The Annecy MCEI Chapter is located in France and was founded on the 7th of February 2005 under the aegis of the GENEVA Chapter. The Annecy Chapter currently brings together around 20 members involved in the fields of marketing, communication and management spanning a wide range of expertise and experience such as state services and private companies of different sizes and sectors. The Annecy Chapter goal is to be fully representative of the economic structure of our beautiful region (Haute-Savoie) and to enable its members to easily broaden their networks, regardless of age or professional position. The particularity of our region, strongly linked to Geneva, emphasises the necessity to work closely with the GENEVA MCEI chapter. Their vision is to build a strong and powerful network of professionals on both sides of the French-swiss border. A simple and easy-contact spirit among members is fully encouraged in that way.

Brussels
The Brussels chapter of MCEI was the first chapter founded outside USA in 1957, by Paul Genton, our present international chairman. It brings together 100 professionals in marketing and communications services with leaders of the business community. MCEI operates as a non profit organization and dynamism depends on board member's commitment to their project. The chapter has a support office in charge of all administrative matters. The Brussels chapter's ambition is to be the preferred marketing association in terms of dynamism, quality of the presentations, empathy among the members, international scope.

Casablanca
There is a new MCEI Chapter - MCEI Casablanca - Morocco!
The Chapter President is Mike FANI and theVice-president is Ali IBEN MANSOUR. Brahim  KHEIREDDINE is theGeneral Secretary and other founding members are:

The official inauguration will be held in Casablanca in September 2006. The organising committee held its first working session in Rabat on March 29th and the legal registration with the Moroccan authorities and publication thereof  is underway.

Geneva ( www.mcei.org )
The Swiss Chapter, founded in Geneva, December 8, 1977 is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. It is a non-profit organization whose members are leading marketing and communications professionals and leaders of opinion in the social, political and business community in Switzerland (mainly in the French speaking part of the country) and nearby France. Membership is restricted in so far as prospective members have to be proposed by two "godfathers" and approved by a majority (6 positive votes minimum) of the Board of Directors. All memberships are individual, a company or corporation is not eligible. In some cases, when there is a change in a member's employment status, he may be allowed to continue his membership in his new position. Decision to be taken by the Committee. Membership is restricted to 250 (including honorary members).

Istanbul
This young chapter of MCEI, was founded in Istanbul in December 2005 and approved by Turkish government authorities on February 10, 2006. Haluk Kurt is the founding President and welcomed the support of the President of the Rome Chapter, Mr. Eugenio Cannarsa, and Mr Paul Genton - the Geneva and International President of MCEI, at their inaugural meeting. The Chapter was formed for the purpose of gathering business executives, those who are interested in various fields of communication and economy or the people working in those fields together and activating the exchange of information and idea on national and international terms.  The basic activity of MCEI Istanbul is a monthly members dinner  where the association meets to make new contacts, exchange ideas and listen to interesting talks.

Melbourne
MCEI Melbourne Chapter commenced in 1999 when Jack and Tina Wu approached Barbara Gabogrecan and Peter O’Connor to help form an Australian Chapter. In 2001 Melbourne Australia hosted the World Congress, with only eight members on board. Delegates attending were networked with a number of businesses (expos, Local Government etc) as well as provided with a great variety of activities to ensure they enjoyed their stay in Melbourne (visiting the penguins, riding on Puffin Billy, feeding the Rosella birds in their natural environment etc). The Chapter now hosts regular MCEI Connect Events bi-monthly where their slogan of 'Learning in an atmosphere of fun and fellowship' has created a WOW factor that the chapter is know for. There are also full day conferences held in different states in Australia to promote the association and add value to businesses trying to create better marketing and communication strategies for their business.

Osaka
The Osaka Chapter was founded in 1972 to give marketing professionals in the Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe area greater opportunities to network for the fuller exchange of information and ideas. The Osaka Chapter has an ambitious schedule of monthly meetings with outstanding speakers. They issues a monthly Bulletin that includes not only reports on the general monthly meetings but interviews with leading marketers, membership notes, and more. This Bulletin is issued in cooperation with the Tokyo Chapter. The Tokyo and Osaka Chapters publish 100 People, 100 Voices, an annual anthology of articulate marketing insights that shares thinking from a wide range of personal and professional perspectives. This anthology is widely read not only by Chapter members but by non-member marketers throughout Japan.

Rome
The Italian Chapter was founded in Rome on September 29, 2002, under the aegis of the Geneva Chapter and especially the auspicious presence of Mr. Paul Genton, Chairman of MCEI International. Governing national authorities finally granted formal legal approval of the Italian Chapter by-laws on the January 27, 2003, a date which marked the starting point of the Chapter activities.

Seattle
MCEI Seattle is a 501(c)(6) organization whose members are leading marketing and communications professionals in the Puget Sound area. Membership is by application and subject to approval by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. A business or corporation is not eligible for membership; all memberships are individual and the membership continues with the individual when there is a change in the member's employment status. Membership consists of three classifications, defined in the bylaws. Classes of membership are Client, Agency and Service, with the Service classification not to exceed 20% of the total membership. Meetings are held at the Seattle Yacht Club on the third Tuesday of each month.

The Taipei Chapter was founded on July 23, 1991. The Chapter is preparing to organise the MCEI Asian Marketing Conference 2006 to celebrate their 15th anniversary next year. They have regular bi-monthly meetings with outstanding speakers. The founder, Mr. Toming Lai, the honourable Chairman of United Advertising, has just won the Prize of lifetime Achievement for Advertising, by the Taiwan Government. Although the Taipei Chapter is rather young they have published a bi-annual Marketing White Book since 1993. It collects all marketing data, lectures, activities and events, regulations and bylaws of the Taiwan area. It is still the only one of this kind of publication throughout the world.  

Tokyo
The Tokyo Chapter was founded in 1969 to give marketing professionals in the Tokyo area greater opportunities to network for the fuller exchange of information and ideas. Meetings are both formal and informal more specialised meetings. They issue a monthly Bulletin in cooperation with the Osaka Chapter and publish 100 People, 100 Voices, an annual anthology of articulate marketing insights that shares thinking from a wide range of personal and professional perspectives. The Tokyo Chapter seeks to enhance the profession’s standing and to help new marketing professionals get up to speed better and faster. The Tokyo Chapter set up the only MCEI Tokyo Business School in 2001. This outreach program features top speakers from a wide range of companies. There are typically two speakers at each of the seven monthly sessions. As well as writing reports every month on how the month’s presentations apply to their own work, students are also required to write papers at the end of the program. All of the student work is reviewed by senior marketing executives.
