Q. Tell us something about you – your philosophy, your lifestyle, your ethics, your hobbies etc.
A. I walked away from a well paying soul destroying lifestyle and asked myself what do you REALLY want to do? The answer - help people gain confidence in writing. I am passionate about giving access to grammar for adults and punctuation and all the other nerdy bits of good writing skills. The best part of my work is the look on people's faces when they really get a handle on a rule that was never explained properly. I also love words in any form - writing, reading, essay coaching. I want to live life with a smile.

Q. What is it that your business does?
A. Wordsmith at your service! Delivery of writing skills training, essay coaching and writing services – ambitions of becoming a unique Registered Training Organisation are still alive.

Q. Do you work from home?
    How many do you employ?
A. Yes at the moment
    2 very part-time (more occasional really)

Q. How long have you been in business?
A. 12 months

Q. What makes your business unique?
A. No one else offers intensive workshops in grammar and structure and critical analysis (as far as I know). 'Grammar for Grownups' and 'Paragraphs: Friend or Foe' are a unique blend of information delivered in a relaxed style designed to make adults comfortable. There is always a large dash of humour thrown in! I am looking to develop a third in the series 'Reports that Rock'.

MARKETING
Q. What is the most important Marketing/Networking tool/strategy your business has had success with?
A. I have developed some useful and innovative promo products to help getting my name out there. Lens cleaner pouches with my brand on it – my car has been wrapped and branded. I am also investigating blogging, I am an eZine expert author, I haven't applied enough effort to that yet. I am still working out what is successful.

A. Not yet

ADVICE
Q. What is the most helpful piece of advice you could give to other businesses?
A. Believe in yourself, always.

SUPPORT
Q. What is it you are looking for as a member of MCEI?
A. A way to offer advice to other small business owners – if I have spent a lot of time getting an answer I want to share it and save others from having to go through the same loops. I hope to build national relationships with other businesses. I hope to receive reciprocal advice on ways to grow my small business.

Q. What is it you can offer to MCEI members?
A. I can offer support to members, advice on wording of business material perhaps, share useful information in forums.
